Behind every high-performance motorcycle is a supply chain of manufacturers committed to precision, quality, and continuous improvement. Jiangmen Ruiyue Industrial Co., Ltd. has been a key manufacturing partner of Zhang Xue Motorcycles, supplying exhaust mufflers for its motorcycles and racing models.
According to Ruiyue Industrial Chairman Cai Shaofeng, working with Zhang Xue means meeting exceptionally demanding requirements. Even the smallest imperfection in a component may require further adjustments. Although the process is challenging, Ruiyue believes that pursuing higher standards is essential to manufacturing progress.
The relationship between Cai Shaofeng and Zhang Xue dates back to October 2016, when they first met at the 14th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition in Chongqing.
At the time, Zhang Xue approached Ruiyue Industrial's booth looking for an exhaust muffler supplier for his motorcycles. Although Cai initially had reservations because Ruiyue's products were relatively expensive compared with standard motorcycle components, he agreed to learn more about Zhang Xue's plans.
When they met again the following day, Zhang shared his background, ambitions, and vision for motorcycle manufacturing. His determination deeply impressed Cai.
As a gesture of support, Cai agreed to develop the first set of exhaust muffler tooling at a heavily reduced cost. The tooling was valued at more than RMB 400,000, but Ruiyue charged only RMB 20,000.
This decision marked the beginning of a partnership built on trust, shared ambition, and a commitment to quality.
The cooperation developed rapidly as Zhang Xue Motorcycles expanded its business. Monthly orders increased from approximately 200 units in the first month to 300 in the second and 400 in the third.
As demand continued growing, Ruiyue Industrial expanded its tooling development and production capacity to support the increasing orders.
When Zhang Xue later established his own motorcycle business, he continued working with Ruiyue. Cai supported the new venture by providing two additional sets of tooling, valued at more than RMB 1 million in total, at half the regular cost.
Despite temporary supply disruptions during Ruiyue's factory relocation, Zhang Xue maintained the partnership.
According to Cai, Ruiyue subsequently became the sole exhaust muffler supplier for Zhang Xue Motorcycles. In 2026, the company was also scheduled to supply mufflers for six new motorcycle models, including the 820RR-RS racing model.
The exhaust system used on the top-spec Zhang Xue 820RR-RS racing motorcycle incorporates three different materials:
Carbon Fiber: Used for lightweight construction and distinctive appearance.
Aerospace-Grade Aluminum Alloy: Provides a balance of structural strength and reduced weight.
Titanium Alloy: Offers high strength-to-weight performance and suitability for demanding operating conditions.
Working with these materials requires precise forming, welding, and assembly processes.
Titanium alloy components are particularly challenging when design modifications involve significant changes in shape. Such changes place demanding requirements on manufacturing accuracy and welding consistency.
Ruiyue Industrial has continued refining its production processes to meet these requirements and support the development of specialized racing exhaust systems.
According to Cai Shaofeng, Zhang Xue pays exceptional attention to weight reduction, product quality, appearance, material selection, and even the smallest structural details.
For example, when a muffler design has already been completed and tooling has been manufactured, Zhang may still request changes to the design. Ruiyue must then modify or redevelop the tooling to meet the updated requirements.
Even a small clamp can become a subject of optimization. Zhang has asked the engineering team to explore different structural details simply to reduce a few grams of weight.
One example is the carbon fiber rear cover of an exhaust muffler. Although the component is relatively small, Zhang insisted on using a premium painting process despite the additional cost.
For him, product quality and performance take priority over short-term manufacturing expenses.
Cai believes that Zhang Xue's approach to motorcycle development is unusual. Rather than simply following existing industry standards, Zhang establishes his own performance and design targets.
Some of his component concepts are new to both domestic and international manufacturers, requiring Ruiyue's engineering team to explore unfamiliar manufacturing methods.
This means the company frequently encounters new technical challenges, from tooling development and material processing to welding and finishing.
When employees find the work particularly demanding, Cai reminds them that comfort alone does not lead to progress. Real manufacturing improvements come from solving difficult problems and continuously pushing technical boundaries.
Ruiyue Industrial's partnership with Zhang Xue Motorcycles demonstrates how close collaboration between motorcycle brands and component manufacturers can drive product innovation.
From the first tooling development in 2016 to supplying specialized exhaust systems for high-performance racing motorcycles, Ruiyue has continued to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities through demanding projects.
